Over the years I've had many interests, astronomy being one of them. From the time 50 some years ago in high school when I ground a 6" mirror, to ham radio and photography, each has changed places in the forefront. Just like everyone, family and work take up so much time and energy, I kept thinking "someday I'll do that". Well a few years ago I checked the calendar and figured someday better be here now. The first project was a new ham shack and tower, which is on my N9KG site. Over the past few years I've been reading about the great equipment now available for astrophotography. Seeing the incredible results from amateurs in their own backyards I decided a backyard observatory could change me from a reader to a doer. Hopefully it will turn into a pretty good observatory. Anyway that's the plan. I will keep you posted. Say a prayer.
